Strid Wood Tea Rooms

Strid Wood Tea Rooms sits at the edge of Strid Wood’s ancient woodland, with the River Wharfe close by. Here you’ll find a traditional tearoom serving good, simple food made with local produce.

The tea rooms are well placed for exploring Strid Wood, the Cumberland Trail, the aqueduct and Barden Bridge, and other circular routes around Bolton Abbey. Dogs are welcome.

Opening Times

The Strid Wood Tea Rooms are open everyday, 10am to 4pm

The Strid Wood Car Park is open everyday, 9am to 5.30pm

Strid Wood Car Park

Strid Wood car park marks the northern end of the estate and provides direct access into the woodland. It is the natural starting point for a network of paths laid out in 1810 by William Carr, Rector and 6th Duke of Devonshire, which guide walkers through Strid Wood’s ancient canopy.

Open everyday 9am .30pmto 5, last admission 4pm

Food

The tea rooms serve hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes, and light lunches. It is a popular stop for walkers and cyclists before heading out along the river or on the return. Stop off for fresh coffee, snacks, and sandwiches.

Strid Wood is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, recognised as one of the largest areas of acidic woodland in the Yorkshire Dales. It supports a rich mix of birds, plants, animals and insects.
